Wadduwacity Sri Lanka is a city situated on the western coast of Sri Lanka. It's a very popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, and famous for its golden beaches that would captivate anybody in the world. Wadduwacity Sri Lanka is also famous for its rich cultivation of coconut palms and as a major producer of toddy and vinegar. The small resort of Wadduwa lies 32 kilometers south of Colombo and 8 kilometers north of Kalutara , on the a quiet stretch of the coast, near to a small fishing community. A railway line runs close to the beach, which is fringed by swaying palms and shelves gently to the sea. At times currents here can be strong and the sea rough. Accommodation in Wadduwacity Sri Lanka consists of resort style hotels by the beach and away from the local village so both daytime and evening activities are generally organized by the hotels. |

The city and the adjoining areas are famous for its beautifully crafted basket ware made from the leaves of local palm trees that line the beach front. Shopping for baskets, mats and bags from any of the roadside stalls are good souvenirs.Wadduwacity Sri Lanka has tourists interests like the Veeragaha Temple which has been built in the 19th century, and is one of the lovely Temples in the area. The Panadura Wildlife Resource Centre runs canoe safaris out to the mangrove swamps where one can see a variety of fauna. The town falls under the Sinharaja Rainforest which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering an area of 11,187 hectares and has the largest stretch of primary and secondary rainforest. |
